FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Vienna, VA – July 20, 2026

ENSCO, Inc. announced it has entered into a sales agreement with Tai Tung Communication Co., Ltd. (TCC) to supply Ultrasonic Rail Flaw Detection Systems (URFS) for use on Taiwan Railway Corporation (TRC) rail inspection vehicles.

Under the agreement, ENSCO Rail will provide two Hi-Rail mounted URFS core systems, including ultrasonic probes, probe wheels, sensor modules, real-time data acquisition and processing equipment, system control and monitoring hardware, operating and analysis software, technical documentation, and support for installation, testing, commissioning and technical coordination.

“ENSCO is proud to support TCC and Taiwan Railway Corporation with advanced ultrasonic rail inspection technology that helps railways identify subsurface rail defects and improve infrastructure safety,” said ENSCO President, Jeff Stevens. “This award reflects ENSCO’s long-standing commitment to delivering reliable, mission-critical technology solutions to customers around the world.”

ENSCO’s URFS is designed to inspect both rails simultaneously using ultrasonic wheel probes mounted on a retractable testing carriage. The system collects ultrasonic data, generates consolidated B-Scan imagery, and uses artificial intelligence-assisted defect recognition and classification to support rail flaw evaluation. The system is designed for data collection at operating speeds up to 40 km/h, with automated pattern recognition capability up to 50 km/h under defined conditions.

The scope also includes URFS Office Review Software for off-board data analysis, enabling users to review inspection data and audit previous inspections from the office. ENSCO will provide technical documentation in English, installation and commissioning support, warranty support, and technical workshops during the warranty period.

The systems will be integrated into road-rail vehicles by TCC and its vehicle integration partners. ENSCO’s responsibilities include supplying the URFS technology and providing technical support for integration and commissioning, while TCC is responsible for vehicle procurement, modification, transportation, import clearance, and related integration activities.

The project schedule calls for completion of installation plan review, factory acceptance testing, shipment, installation, commissioning, training, and start of production use in staged milestones following contract signing.
