Springfield, VA, April 18, 2023

ENSCO Inc., a leading provider in railway track inspection and measurement technology, is proud to announce that the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has awarded ENSCO a new five-year contract to execute its Automated Track Inspection Program (ATIP). Under this award, ENSCO will provide operations, maintenance, IT, and engineering support for FRA’s fleet of track inspection vehicles.

The mission of FRA’s ATIP is to provide objective information for FRA safety oversight and enforcement activities, to audit railroad track safety compliance, and to determine the State of Good Repair of the Nation’s railroads. ENSCO has supported this mission through execution of ATIP since 1974. Over this time, ENSCO has implemented new technologies and processes to improve ATIP’s ability to detect and report potentially unsafe track conditions. Under this new award, ENSCO will continue to help FRA evolve ATIP to implement new inspection methods, assess compliance with additional areas of the Track Safety Standards (TSS), consider potential regulatory changes, and facilitate increased ATIP data utilization.

“ENSCO looks forward to continuing to provide the operational excellence, innovative technology and testing methods, and high-quality data products that FRA has come to expect,” said Gary Martin, ENSCO’s ATIP Program Manager.
