Melbourne, FL – November 10, 2025

ENSCO, Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Colonel (Ret.) Keith J. Butler, U.S. Air Force, as Senior Program Manager supporting the company’s Mission Systems Group (MSG). In this role, Butler will help lead ENSCO’s efforts in counter-weapons of mass destruction (CWMD), persistent surveillance, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and space-based mission support.

A decorated command pilot and aviation executive, Butler brings over 30 years of operational leadership and strategy experience in the U.S. Air Force. Based at ENSCO’s Melbourne, Florida office, he will serve as a liaison to active-duty leadership and national security stakeholders at the Pentagon, Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).

“Keith brings a rare combination of operational credibility, technical acumen, and strategic insight,” sai Kevin Pruett, Executive Vice President of Mission Systems Group. “He will be instrumental in helping ENSCO deepen partnerships across the Department of Defense and drive mission success.”

Over the course of his distinguished military career, Butler commanded at the squadron, group, and wing levels, leading organizations of up to 4,000 personnel and managing mission-critical assets valued at more than $45 billion. Most recently, he served as the Commander of the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, home of the nation’s B-2 bomber fleet up to the execution of Operation Midnight Hammer against Iran. Prior to that assignment, he led operational testing efforts for next-generation ISR and strike platforms at Edwards Air Force Base. A graduate of the Secretary of Defense Executive Fellowship program, he also worked at the intersection of defense innovation and private-sector technology while embedded with Autodesk, Inc. in San Francisco. Butler has logged more than 2,200 flight hours, including 230+ in combat, across multiple platforms including the F-16, F-117, and B-2.

“Colonel Butler’s background aligns directly with ENSCO’s growth priorities in national security and space,” added Julie Ann Phinney, Vice President of Business Development at ENSCO. “He understands the mission from the inside, and that’s invaluable.”

Butler is a well-versed public speaker on topics including strategic deterrence, organizational resilience, and innovation in defense environments. He will be available for engagements on behalf of ENSCO.
