Erin Plemons, Director of ENSCO’s Center for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CCIP), will present “Level Up Your Agency’s Cybersecurity” at the 2025 APTA TRANSform Conference. The session will be held Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m. EST in Room 253C of the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

Plemons’ presentation directly addresses transit leaders’ urgent need for practical, cost-effective cybersecurity strategies. In her session, she will introduce ENSCO and APTA’s jointly-developed cybersecurity training courses designed specifically for transit agencies. These new offerings include a one-hour cyber awareness course and a three-hour incident response workshop aligned with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Cybersecurity Directives.

“Cyber attacks targeting the transit sector have increased 186 percent year-over-year since 2020, and too many agencies still lack the visibility and training to respond effectively,” said Plemons. “These new tools are designed to fix that.”

Plemons, a Navy veteran and certified expert in digital forensics and incident response, brings both real-world operations experience and deep cybersecurity expertise. She leads ENSCO’s CCIP, which is based at the Transportation Technology Center (TTC) in Pueblo, Colorado, and works directly with transit agencies, DOT, FTA, and TSA on cybersecurity initiatives across the United States.

The presentation will also highlight why role-specific training, real-time reinforcement, and transit-specific content are critical to reducing risk. Role-based training strategies have been shown to reduce high-risk behaviors and improve organizational resilience, according to industry research.

ENSCO representatives will attend the full conference and are available for scheduled meetings with interested transit agencies and partners.
