Director of C-UAS Operations
ENSCO, Inc.
ENSCO, Inc. announces the addition of Bill Edwards as Director of Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) Operations. Edwards brings more than 35 years of experience in national security, counterterrorism, intelligence, and operational security, with a distinguished career that spans military service, private-sector leadership, and strategic consulting.
Prior to joining ENSCO, Edwards served as President of the Federal and Public Safety Directorate at Building Intelligence Inc., advancing awareness of trusted access management technologies across government sectors. He previously led the security consulting group at Thornton Tomasetti and was founder and CEO of Phoenix 6 Consulting. Edwards retired from the U.S. Army in 2018, concluding his service as Director of Intelligence for Theater Special Operations Command-North (USSOCOM), where he led the creation of the Blue Network, a collaborative, interagency counterterrorism framework designed to protect the U.S. homeland.
At ENSCO, Edwards will lead efforts to expand the company’s C-UAS initiatives, including the delivery of a premier C-UAS Training Program and Center focused on protecting critical infrastructure and high-risk environments.
“We want to establish a C-UAS center of excellence,” said Edwards, who will be based out of the company’s Colorado Springs, Colorado office. “ENSCO’s culture of innovation and mission alignment makes this the ideal environment to build something that truly strengthens our national resilience.”
Edwards is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 certified drone operator. His drone-focused training content is now part of ENSCO’s course offerings for public safety professionals.
“Bill brings unmatched expertise, a deep understanding of threat landscapes, and a practical mindset for solving difficult problems,” said Kevin Pruett, Executive Vice President of ENSCO’s Mission Systems Group. “He is exactly the kind of leader we look for: agile, purpose-driven, and focused on advancing mission success through innovation. It’s a pleasure to welcome Bill to our ENSCO team.”
