Washington, D.C. – January 8, 2026

ENSCO Rail researchers will participate in three technical poster presentations during the 2026 Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting, highlighting research focused on train localization, railcar protection, and advanced track condition monitoring. The annual meeting will take place January 11–15 in Washington, D.C.

During TRB’s Monday poster sessions on January 12 from 8:00–9:45 a.m., ENSCO researchers will contribute to the following presentations:

Delay-Compensated Kalman Filter Model for Real-Time Cloud-Based Train Localization Using Head- and End-of-Train GPS Data, presented by Jose Rosales-Yepez.

Development of a Simulation Model for Shielding Internal Components of Railcars Against Shrapnel in Explosion Incidents, presented by Przemyslaw Rakoczy.

ENSCO will also have a poster titled Innovative Track Condition Monitoring Using FBG Sensors: Evaluation of System Performance for Measuring Rail Response and Track Support Stiffness available to view.

ENSCO will highlight how research, testing, and training conducted at the Federal Railroad Administration’s (FRA) Transportation Technology Center (TTC), along with cybersecurity offerings through the Center for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CCIP), help government and industry organizations advance safety, strengthen resiliency, and reduce lifecycle costs.

ENSCO will also highlight its transit-specific online Cybersecurity Awareness Training Course offered in partnership with the American Public Transportation Association (APTA). The course enables participants to learn at their own pace and introduces core cybersecurity principles, practical steps to protect organizations from cyber attacks, and common threats in the transit industry.

Attendees are invited to visit ENSCO at Booth 535 to learn more about TTC capabilities, including accelerated testing, engineering services, HAZMAT and emergency response training, and initiatives focused on leveraging large datasets and artificial intelligence to identify emerging risks. ENSCO will also share information on its expanding support for the broader surface transportation sector, including trucking, pipelines, and emerging mobility technologies.
