ENSCO, Inc. announced that its subsidiary, ENSCO Rail Australia Pty Ltd, has entered a standing arrangement with Yarra Trams, for the supply of wayside remote condition monitoring equipment and related services for Melbourne’s tram network. Under the contract, ENSCO will provide a WheelScan™ system for wheel monitoring to support Yarra Trams’ asset condition monitoring capabilities. The system will be installed at Yarra Trams’ New Preston Depot in Preston, Victoria.
The contract includes equipment, shipping, a three-year annual support agreement and three years of monthly database hosting. The contract runs through May 31, 2030, with options for extension.

As part of the agreement, ENSCO will provide remote system health monitoring, software and firmware updates, technical support, annual maintenance and calibration, bi-monthly site visits, quarterly service level meetings, and quarterly service reports. ENSCO will also support system and data evaluation and provide a 24-hour help desk for technical support.
Yarra Trams operates the Melbourne metropolitan tram network, the largest tram system in the world. ENSCO’s work under this agreement supports condition monitoring and maintenance planning for tram operations in Victoria, Australia.
