Weather Decision Support

Delivering the best possible weather information faster and more efficiently.

ENSCO’s experience in transitioning research into operations has made us the premier integrator of disparate weather systems and technologies to enhance safety, reduce cost, and lessen weather impacts on space launch, aviation and business operations. ENSCO’s world-class meteorological capabilities, systems knowledge and experience provide decision makers with the most innovative staff and state-of-the-art applications available.

We are recognized as an organization that identifies industry-leading technologies and tools, integrates them into a system, and then tailors the system to our customers' requirements in a cost effective manner. In addition to integrating other approaches, ENSCO develops real-time weather systems that ingest and exploit all pertinent meteorological data and use advanced prediction models and techniques to provide mission-focused weather decision assistance to our customers.

ENSCO provides valuable expertise to NASA’s Short-term Prediction Research and Transition (SPoRT) Center in Huntsville, Ala. Here, ENSCO scientists work directly with NASA’s team to develop and transition new NASA datasets and capabilities into operations, specifically in the areas of regional numerical weather predictions, land surface modeling, and lightning detection. ENSCO also aligns new NASA products with National Weather Service (NWS) operations. In this capacity, our scientists visit prospective customers to identify their forecasting challenges. The scientists then use unique NASA products and integrate them into their systems to solve the forecasting challenges. ENSCO has established collaborative relationships with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, the National Severe Storms Laboratory, and the NWS forecast offices.
