Zone 4: Sampling of Past Performance and Workforce
ENSCO and team members, Capstone, Carter Aviation, and JES Tech all have presence in Zone 4. The ENSCO team has over 350 employees available to support SeaPort-e efforts in this zone. Through its contracts as a prime and subcontractor in Zone 4, ENSCO has demonstrated its ability to effectively support the following mission areas: Force Protection, Chemical/Biological Defense, Navigation and Applied Sciences, and Ranges.
Carter Aviation Technologies specializes in hybrid aircraft and rotorcraft research and development. The company’s successful engineering methodology applies flexible, innovative invention to prototype design work. Teammate JES Tech employs over 100 aerospace personnel, in Life Sciences, Safety & Mission Assurance, and Logistics. JES Tech has a prominent role in operating the Human Test Subject Facility at NASA JSC and managing the Test Subject Monitors on NASA’s Bed Rest Project (BRP). JES Tech has full responsibility to staff, manage and train the pool of monitors in the complex demands of the study’s protocols as well as the policies and procedures of partners NASA, UTMB and Wyle.
- Materials Applied Research and Systems Support (MARSS)
ENSCO provides scientific and information technology support to the Air Force at Patrick AFB, FL. This contract supports Air Force’s nuclear treaty monitoring mission and research of advanced detection methods for monitoring compliance with current and future chemical and biological treaties, conventions, and agreements. Air Force mission and R&D activities are closely related to Navy and DTRA nuclear/chemical/biological defense capabilities that protect US forces at home and abroad.
- Toxic Industrial Chemical Modeling
Under Contract with the Airbase Technologies Division, Air Force Research Laboratory at Tyndall AFB, ENSCO is developing a capability to realistically model the generation, transport, dispersion, and subsequent degradation of toxic industrial chemicals that present a potential threat to the Air Force and other military services.
- NASA Applied Meteorological Unit
ENSCO managed the Applied Meteorology Unit (AMU) program for NASA/KSC at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), FL. The main support requirements included meteorological techniques development, application of weather research, transitioning technology and techniques into operations, technical assistance, documentation and support, and contract financial management.
- Ballistic Missile Range Safety Technology (BMRST)
BMRST is a portable system that provides ballistic missile tracking, telemetry processing, Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking, and command uplink capabilities for range tracking and range safety.
- Capstone Support to Homeland Security/Force Protection
In Zone 4, Capstone provides the Task Lead/Site/Senior Battle Watch Supervisor at the Navy Region Southeast ROC.
- Slowed Rotor Compound Air Vehicle (SRCAV)
Provides support to Carter Aviation Technologies (also an ENSCO partner) and US Central Command in researching Service UAS requirements, and the Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS) in preparing SRCAV for FY08 Joint Capabilities.
