Falls Church, Va., September 6, 2006 — ENSCO, Inc., a diversified research, development and information technology company, today announced that it has been awarded a contract with the United Kingdom Home Office for one of its showcase security products, MicroSearch® Human Presence Detection System. ENSCO received a three-year framework contract from the United Kingdom’s Immigration and Nationality Directorate for deployment of MicroSearch units at ports of entry on the English Channel.
MicroSearch is a unique security detection system that identifies humans hiding in vehicles by sensing the vibrations on the vehicle’s suspension system caused by human heartbeats.
MicroSearch is ideal for security applications such as border control, cargo screening at seaports and airports, and portals/entries to any highly valued facility. It accurately and efficiently searches vehicles as well as cargo and shipping containers loaded on vehicles of any size. It detects human presence with greater accuracy and faster response time than traditional manual searches. ENSCO includes among its MicroSearch users: U.S. and U.K. prisons, the Poland Border Guard, and the Spanish Civil Guard at various seaports.
MicroSearch will be on display at the Air and Port Security Expo, September 13-14, 2006, in Brussels, Belgium.
