Falls Church, Va., October 16, 2017
ENSCO Avionics will participate in the Naval Air Systems Command FACE™ Exhibition and Technical Interchange Meeting, in Solomons, Md., Oct. 17. ENSCO Avionics’ industry experts will be on hand to share how its IData® product aligns with the FACE initiative and helps avionics display developers decrease costs and maximize efficiency.
In partnership with PrismTech and Lynx Software Technologies, ENSCO Avionics will present a joint demonstration of the ENSCO (Platform Specific Services Segment) IData cockpit display using the BALSA (Basic Avionics Lightweight Source Archetype) FACE environment. The demonstration will specifically highlight a open-source FACE 2.1 Transport Services Segment (TSS) reference implementation for use with OpenSplice implementation of the OMG DDS standard running over LynxOS-178 RTOS. This builds on previously showcased IData® demonstrations by adding the BALSA ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast) data to a avionics display application.
The FACE approach is a government-industry software standard and business strategy for acquisition of affordable software systems that promotes innovation and rapid integration of portable capabilities across global defense programs. The FACE Technical Standard is an engine for innovation and affordability, and accelerates delivery of integrated warfighting capabilities in a more competitive environment.
