In 2012, ENSCO, Inc., headquartered in Falls Church, Va., restructured its business and international activities in order to allow the business lines to increase their concentration within their distinct market areas and to better manage corporate liability. As such, ENSCO, Inc. is the parent company of four wholly owned subsidiaries: ENSCO Avionics, Inc., ENSCO Avionics Canada Inc., ENSCO Rail, Inc., and ENSCO Rail Australia Pty Ltd.

The NSS Division is based in Springfield, Va., and Melbourne, Fla. The division focuses on national security technological solutions and services for the United States government.

The NSS Division of ENSCO is a science and engineering laboratory countering current and emerging threats through advanced analytics, applied research, and disruptive technology. The division delivers transformative and agile prescriptive analytics, special sensor development and integration, positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) solutions, cyber network exploitation, full-spectrum vulnerability mitigation, and applied science in chemical, biological and geophysical phenomenology solving the most critical requirements for elite intelligence, defense, federal, civil, and commercial clients.

Aerospace Sciences and Engineering (ASE) Division

The ASE Division, led by Vice President Kevin Pruett, is located in Cocoa Beach, Fla. Specific areas of expertise include launch and test range architecture development, instrumentation systems, modeling and simulation, meteorological science, high accuracy forecasting, and performance evaluation and testing. Applying ASE’s disciplined processes along with these areas of expertise provides clients with reduced project risk and cost, while also ensuring an increased level of mission assurance across their enterprise.

Since 2007, ASE has leveraged its FAA, NASA, NOAA, USAF and global commercial aviation weather forecasting experience into studying the complexities involved with flying Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in the National Airspace System (NAS). Our experience and technological knowledge can assist in exploring the benefits provided by the application UAS.

The division successfully transfers complex and leading edge science and technology into the day-to-day operational environment of commercial and government clients worldwide. Reducing these advance technology and scientific studies into solutions that assist clients in gaining greater efficiencies and a competitive marketplace advantage has been a trademark of the ASE Division for more than 20 years.

Applied Technology and Engineering (ATE) Division

The ATE Division, under the leadership of Vice President Jeffrey Stevens, is a leader in rail transportation systems and services, focused on helping customers maintain and improve the safety, quality and efficiency of their rail operations.

ATE delivers a full range of track inspection systems and related consulting services for government and commercial customers around the world. ATE systems include instrumentation, as well as data collection, processing and data analysis. The division’s specialized consulting services focus on vehicle performance/acceptance testing, vehicle dynamics analysis, cab signaling system evaluations, and derailment investigations. Capabilities for testing and analysis include vibration and ride quality testing, wayside and onboard noise monitoring, wheel/rail force measuring, brake performance testing, and wheel temperature testing.

ATE’s interconnected line of hardware, software, data management products, and consulting services help manage and analyze track conditions and track asset information, and helps assure safe and efficient railroad operations.

ENSCO Avionics, based in Endicott, N.Y., and ENSCO Avionics Canada, its Canadian counterpart in Montréal, Québec, both wholly owned subsidiaries of ENSCO, Inc., are under the leadership of Vice President Neil Fifield. ENSCO Avionics and ENSCO Avionics Canada provide safety- and mission-critical avionics engineering solutions in support of both military and commercial aircraft for world-class customers, such as BAE Systems, GE Aviation, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Pratt & Whitney, and Rockwell Collins.

Providing safety- and mission-critical engineering, software, hardware engineering, and synthetic vision systems for the aerospace industry, the avionics groups focus specifically on DO-178C, DO-254, and military standards. ENSCO Avionics and ENSCO Avionics Canada support solutions for all stages of the system development life cycle, including requirements definition and analysis, software and hardware design, development and test, verification, and certification.

The avionics product line includes IData®, a software development toolkit with application elements that provide a highly efficient development environment and high operational performance for digital display devices.

ENSCO Rail, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of ENSCO, Inc., based in Springfield, Va., under the leadership of Vice President Jeffrey Stevens, is the primary provider of commercial track inspection services to passenger, transit and freight rail markets nationally and internationally, using the full line of advanced interconnected ENSCO rail technologies.

ENSCO Rail’s diverse array of track testing and troubleshooting services, include track geometry, rail profile, and third rail (power rail) geometry measurement, joint bar inspection, tie quality assessment, ride quality inspection, and right of way video.

ENSCO Rail also offers a unique security product — MicroSearch® — capable of detecting stowaways in vehicles transiting into, or out of, secure locations, such as correctional facilities, border crossings, shipping ports or other sensitive cargo locations. MicroSearch is fully exportable and has been deployed at customer locations worldwide.

ENSCO Rail Australia Pty Ltd
, a wholly owned subsidiary of ENSCO, Inc., under the leadership of Vice President Jeffrey Stevens, is based in Baulkham Hills near Sydney. The company provides comprehensive solutions for railway asset condition assessment and maintenance planning, state-of-the-art automated track inspection, and data management products, including track measurement and machine vision inspection technologies to the Australian marketplace.
