Vehicle Testing & Evaluation

ENSCO provides a full range of vehicle testing and troubleshooting services, including vehicle performance/acceptance testing, vehicle dynamics analysis, cab signaling system evaluations, wheel unloading tests and derailment investigations.
 

Vehicle Acceptance Testing

ENSCO staff, equipment and experience provide data collection and analysis services to verify system specifications and demonstrate safe operations for the purposes of waiver and/or qualification approval. ENSCO capabilities for testing and analysis include vibration and ride quality testing, wayside and onboard noise monitoring, wheel/rail force measuring, wheel unloading and load equalization measurement, brake performance testing and wheel temperature testing.

Troubleshooting

ENSCO staff routinely assesses car body/truck accelerations, vehicle component displacements, resultant stresses and strains as well as cab signal systems to identify potentially hazardous motions and conditions.

Wheel/Rail Contact Force Measurement

ENSCO’s Wheel/Rail Contact Force Measurement System is used to measure the dynamic lateral, vertical and longitudinal forces, as well as the location of the wheel/rail interface, to facilitate acceptance tests of high speed vehicles and safety-related investigations.

Wayside Vehicle Inspection
