Track Inspection Vehicles

Most major railways in the world own and operate track inspection vehicles that monitor track geometry and other parameters that reflect the service quality and safety of the track. Analysis and reporting software is built into these inspection vehicles to automatically evaluate the measurements and identify locations where the measured condition does not meet the applicable standards.

ENSCO has delivered over 50 inspection vehicles throughout the world. Most recently, ENSCO delivered two new geometry test vehicles, DOTX 219 and DOTX 220, to the FRA. These cars incorporate advanced technology and will augment the FRA’s Automated Track Inspection Program (ATIP) current fleet of test cars in annually surveying thousands of miles of track throughout the country.
