Deployable Gage Restraint (Tie Strength) Measurement System (D-GRMS)
The Deployable GRMS conducts performance-based testing of railroad track strength, locating bad ties and weak connections for timely repairs. This vehicle meets the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) alternative standard for tie inspection. D-GRMS measures track strength up to 50 mph and can cover entire territories in the time it would take walking inspectors to cover one mile of track.
DGRMS is based on research sponsored by the FRA and ENSCO’s internal research and development.
