Weather Support Tools

Weather forecasting for the United States Space Program presents unique challenges in personnel, equipment and methodology. ENSCO staffs NASA’s Applied Meteorology Unit (AMU) assisting the operational meteorology support units by conducting techniques development, applications research, technology transition and supplying expert technical assistance aimed at improving weather observing and forecasting methods and equipment.

ENSCO has successfully supported NASA’s AMU in this capacity since its inception in 1991. We have assembled an experienced team of professionals and developed a methodology and toolset that continues to make the AMU successful. This approach and experience provides a foundation for ENSCO to support range weather operations worldwide.
