Endicott, N.Y., January 5, 2006 — ENSCO Inc., the premier supplier of safety- and mission-critical avionics software engineering solutions, today announced the award of a major new contract from Lockheed Martin of Fort Worth, Texas, to support software testing on the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program. The contract is valued at $3.4 million and will run until March of 2006. In addition to this initial award, ENSCO anticipates the opportunity for follow-on support for this major military program. ENSCO’s outstanding reputation, expertise in formal software verification and our extensive knowledge of LDRA’s test tool suite enabled ENSCO to receive this award. LDRA, a market leader in providing automated software source code analysis and testing tools, is an ENSCO Technology Partner.
In support of this and other ongoing contracts, the division has added 30 software engineers over the past two months. The total project staff size will exceed 48, with hired staff including a blend of senior level, mid level and many entry level engineers. In addition, a number of local Binghamton University, Rochester Institute of Technology and Broome Community College students have been hired to support ENSCO’s continued Avionics Solutions expansion.
Mr. Jay Ficarro, ENSCO’s Director of Avionics Solutions, and Mr. Frank A. Zurla III, Director of Avionics Operations, successfully completed testing on the Phase I efforts of this program which led to winning this contract with Lockheed Martin. This award is an important win as we continue to achieve significant expansion of our Avionics Solutions business area.
