ENSCO Expands its Innovative Systems Solutions Division to Midwest Region
Falls Church, Va., and Rockford, Ill., June 13, 2006 — ENSCO Inc., a diversified research, development and information technology company, today announced its expansion into the Midwest region with the opening of a new office in Rockford, Ill. ENSCO’s Innovative Systems Solutions (ISS) Division, a leading provider of advanced avionics software solutions, has opened a new facility in Rockford and has brought its expertise and skills closer to its Rockford-based customers. ENSCO will be offering its full suite of safety-critical development and verification offerings from this new Midwest location.

Most important were the close proximity to the Chicago market and the skilled and readily available work force,” said Director of Avionics Programs, Jay Ficarro. To continue its growth trend, ENSCO looks forward to investigating new market opportunities in the regions surrounding Rockford. ENSCO’s recent growth has been driven by the development of specialized avionics software and service offerings, including civil certification DER services and DO-178B/DO-254 development and verification expertise.
ENSCO’s ISS Division’s historical strength has been in providing development, testing, integration, verification and certification services to a number of avionics software systems, including flight controls, engine controls, actuation controls, power controls and cockpit instrumentation. ENSCO recently launched its programmable hardware development and verification services and began offering RTCA DO-254 certification for programmable hardware. Since that time, ENSCO has been working on several civil certification programs for major avionics suppliers and leading multi-national companies such as Raytheon, ITT Industries, Moog, Honeywell, and Sandel Avionics.
ENSCO’s strong experience in avionics software support allows their Rockford team to be properly positioned to support the commercial avionics industry in software development and the emerging area of programmable hardware verification services.
